How does the WLTP work?
The range of an electric car according to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) is measured under standardised laboratory conditions. The test simulates a mixed route including city, road, and highway driving, with variations in speed and acceleration.
It lasts 30 minutes and covers about 14 miles, with a controlled temperature of around 23°C. The range is calculated by measuring energy consumption (kWh/62 miles) and the total battery capacity. However, in real-world conditions, factors such as weather, driving style, and air conditioning use can reduce this range.
About the charge
To preserve your battery and optimize charging, keep the charge level between 20% and 80% for daily trips (62 miles/day), avoid a complete discharge, and charge to 100% before long journeys.
