How does the WLTP work?
The range of an electric car according to the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure) is measured under standardised laboratory conditions. The test simulates a mixed route including city, road, and highway driving, with variations in speed and acceleration.
It lasts 30 minutes and covers about 14 miles, with a controlled temperature of around 23°C. The range is calculated by measuring energy consumption (kWh/62 miles) and the total battery capacity. However, in real-world conditions, factors such as weather, driving style, and air conditioning use can reduce this range.
About the charge
To preserve your battery and optimize charging:
- Keep the charge level between 20% and 80% for daily trips
- Avoid a complete discharge
- Charge to 100% before long journeys
All New E-408 models come with the Battery Pre-Conditioning feature that helps reduce charging time by preheating the battery while driving before stopping at a public charging point (fast charging point). Activation occurs automatically via the EV routing function or can be done manually.
