PEUGEOT opens orders for the new fully electric E-208 GTi hot hatch starting from £34,995 MRRP OTR.

The PEUGEOT E-208 GTi is a fully electric hot hatch positioned in the B-segment. Engineered by PEUGEOT Sport and PEUGEOT Design, the vehicle combines electric powertrain technology with styling cues and performance characteristics inspired by the brand's GTi heritage.

The PEUGEOT E-208 GTi is equipped with an electric motor delivering 281 PS and 345Nm of torque. It is powered by a 54 kWh gross battery, of which 51 kWh is useable. The battery management system has been adapted by PEUGEOT Sport to support the power requirements of the GTi motor. The vehicle's power-to-weight ratio is 182bhp per tonne.

Power is transmitted via an automatic transmission with motorsport-derived control software. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 5.5 seconds, completes a 1000m standing start in 25.8 seconds and accelerates from 50 to 80mph in 3.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 112mph.

The electric range varies depending on the selected tyres. Equipped with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tyres, which are available as a no-cost option, the WLTP combined range is up to 233 miles. With the standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S performance tyres, the WLTP combined range is up to 219 miles.

Charging times are as follows:

• 7.4 kW AC wall box (0% to 100%): 4 hours 40 minutes

The exterior design features a lowered ride height and wider tracks compared to the standard E-208. It includes 18-inch alloy wheels with a pepper pot design to assist with brake cooling, accompanied by subtly flared wheel arches. Aerodynamic features include a bespoke front spoiler and a gloss black rear diffuser with an integrated LED rear fog light.

The lighting design incorporates the PEUGEOT three-claw signature, with full LED headlamps at the front and three horizontal LED claws at the rear. Red detailing, which is a defining GTi hallmark, is applied to the grille, headlights, front emblem, wheel arch extensions, front brake callipers, 208 GTi C-pillar badges and rear spoiler.

Seven paint finishes are available: Miramar Blue, Elixir Red, Okenite White, Nera Black, Cumulus Grey, Selenium Grey and Agueda Yellow.

The cabin features a red and black colour scheme with red carpets, floor mats, seatbelts and contrast stitching on the dashboard, door panels and steering wheel. The front seats feature a central red insert, red mesh detailing, integrated headrests and enhanced lateral support. The compact steering wheel is trimmed in perforated leather and Alcantara with a red 208 GTi emblem.

The PEUGEOT i-Cockpit includes GTi-specific digital graphics, performance displays, standard red ambient lighting, with seven alternative colours, and a motor-speed linked sound ambience.

Technology features include the PEUGEOT i-Connect Advanced infotainment system with TomTom navigation and connected route planning. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, alongside "OK PEUGEOT" voice recognition. The MyPEUGEOT smartphone app supports remote cabin pre-conditioning, charging management and journey planning. The vehicle also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability to power external electrical devices.

The PEUGEOT E-208 GTi is open for orders with an OTR MRRP of £34,995. After applying the UK government £1,500 Electric Car Grant (ECG), the OTR MRRP is £33,495.
