The pride of Sochaux

The new E-3008 is produced exclusively at the Sochaux Plant in France. Let's meet the teams working on its assembly.

As part of its sustainable approach, PEUGEOT manufactures its SUV locally in Sochaux. It was here, at the heart of the Lion brand, that we met the men and women who produce the E-3008. Sochaux site manager Christophe Montavon and his teams have been preparing for this challenge for some time: "Preparations began a long time ago. To involve as many people as possible in the E-3008 adventure, and in electric vehicles in general, we presented the vehicle to all our teams at a very early stage. As a result, all the people at the workstations producing the SUV felt very involved. Adyl Kardous, a Quality Supervisor who has been with the Stellantis Group for 23 years, had never seen such enthusiasm around a new car!"

Greater flexibility to meet customer requirements

The team training process was initiated "months, if not years ago", explains Murielle Sanchez, the battery workshop's launch trainer. This brand-new, 6,000 m² area has been designed to meet stringent safety standards. For Christophe Montavon, "this new generation of electrified vehicles requires a much more flexible assembly line than in the past, and rethought logistics. The aim is to meet customer requirements as effectively as possible."

A tight-knit team!

To successfully produce a model as ambitious as the new E-3008, team spirit is essential. According to Christophe Montavon: "The factory is like a single team. We have our moments of difficulty, but we make sure we face them together. Conversely, we also celebrate victories together." For the teams, it's a source of great pride and satisfaction to have been awarded the manufacture of this model. An honour and a great responsibility for David Pierre, assembly team leader: "Now it's up to us to do everything we can to ensure that the expected quality is delivered." And there's plenty of work to do: while 60 E-3008s are currently rolling off the assembly lines every hour, production capacity can be increased to 1,200 cars a day, depending on customer demand.
