New PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW:

The Lion in the spotlight

When they were launched, the PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW made a lasting impression with their bold and elegant design. They were also the first cars in the range to bear the new PEUGEOT crest. Today, they go even further by illuminating this crest. But how do you evolve the design of a successful model without turning everything upside down? Peugeot Magazine asked Michael Trouvé, Design Project Manager for the New PEUGEOT 308, at the Stellantis Creative Centre: "We need to take the car into a new generation whilst maintaining a strong sense of coherence. The goal here was to further strengthen the expressiveness of the front end. To give the brand more presence and also place it more firmly within the electric world."

To achieve this, the PEUGEOT crest lights up on the front, proudly reaffirming the brand's identity. The proximity radar, conveniently hidden behind this crest, remains invisible to the user whilst ensuring high-level safety. Above the crest, a set of luminous strands elegantly highlights the grille and extends the illumination towards the new headlights, thus reinforcing the vehicle's presence. "We link the crest in the centre and the three claws with fairly thin luminous strands on the top of the grille," explains Michael. It is also "this coordination between the crest, the grille and the claws in the eye area" that personally strikes him the most about this 308.

Under this new silhouette, the 308 continues to evolve in depth. The engine range adapts to all uses: hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric. A diesel engine will also be available from March 2026. The PEUGEOT E-308 gains range too and can now travel up to 279 miles WLTP*. This performance is made possible by meticulous work on battery efficiency. The side air intakes are not just for looks; they guide the airflow towards the wheel arches, contributing to efficiency. As for the plug-in hybrid version, it now offers a range of approximately 53 miles in 100% electric mode*.

Inside, the 308 retains its unique architecture, centred around the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®. The digital instrument panel blends seamlessly above the compact steering wheel, while the 10-inch central touchscreen accompanied by five customisable i-Toggles. The on-board ambiance is both technological and welcoming, with eight-colour ambient lighting and premium materials such as genuine aluminium and Alcantara®. The seats, AGR-certified for their ergonomics, can be heated, massaged, and even ventilated.

The SW version meanwhile, combines elegance and versatility. With its elongated profile, it offers a generous boot volume of up to 1,487 litres, a two-position modular floor, and a three-part folding rear seat. It's enough to meet everyday needs without sacrificing style. Like the hatchback, it benefits from a sustainable design: more than 30% recycled and renewable materials are used in its manufacturing process, and its recyclability is 85%. Assembled in Mulhouse, the New PEUGEOT 308 and 308 SW embody the French know-how and are part of a responsible approach. Designed to last, these cars continue to appeal to customers looking for a high-end, modern, and elegant compact vehicle.

*The fuel consumption or electric range achieved, and CO2 produced (where applicable), in real world conditions will depend upon a number of factors including, but not limited to: the accessories fitted (pre and post registration); the starting charge of the battery; variations in weather; driving styles and vehicle load. The New E-308 is a battery electric vehicle and the New 308 Plug-in Hybrid requires mains electricity for charging. The WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) is used to measure fuel consumption, electric range and CO2 figures. Figures shown are for comparison purposes and should only be compared to the fuel consumption, electric range and CO2 values of other cars tested to the same technical standard.

Official Fuel Consumption in MPG (I/100km) and CO2 emissions (g/km) for the E-308 range are: Combined N/A (N/A) and CO2 (0g/km). Equivalent All Electric Range: 279 - 281 miles.

Official Fuel Consumption in MPG (l/100km) and CO2 emissions (g/km) for the 308 Plug-In Hybrid are: Combined 106.9(2.6) - 148.1(1.9) and CO2 43 - 60g/km. Equivalent All Electric Range: 54 - 57 miles.
