When quality is built every day at the Sochaux factory

When quality is built every day at the Sochaux factory

At PEUGEOT, quality is built every day. Nowhere is this more evident than at the Sochaux plant, the Brand's historic production site, where every gesture matters and attention to detail shapes every stage in the manufacturing of the PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008.

Behind every vehicle rolling off the production line are dedicated men and women driven by a shared commitment to excellence.

Through the complementary perspectives of Plant Director Manuel Gentile and Site Quality Director Cyril Souchaud, these two videos take us behind the scenes of PEUGEOT's manufacturing expertise at Sochaux.

When every detail counts

When every detail counts

For Manuel Gentile, Plant Director at Sochaux, quality is never the responsibility of a single team, it belongs to everyone. From the very first assembly operation to the final inspection, every stage depends on the people who contribute to building each vehicle.

With 6,500 employees working across the site, customer satisfaction drives everyday decision-making. To support this commitment, the plant relies on a key organisational asset: a dedicated control tower. Its role is to centralise customer feedback, analyse every reported issue and direct each case to the appropriate teams, ensuring rapid action and continuous improvement.

This commitment to quality is rooted in a long-standing tradition, more than 215 years of industrial innovation and continuous learning. Every improvement, no matter how small, contributes to the same collective ambition: to keep progressing, every single day.

For Cyril Souchaud, quality is far more than a requirement - it is a constant priority.

On the production lines for the PEUGEOT 3008 and 5008, nothing is left to chance. The objective is clear: achieve zero customer defects. Whenever an issue is identified, it is thoroughly analysed and transformed into an opportunity to further improve manufacturing processes.

This commitment is supported by a strengthened organisation where defect detection and analysis play a central role. Engineers, quality specialists and designers now work side by side with production teams to better understand issues, implement corrective actions and anticipate future improvements.

Every day, around 1,050 vehicles leave the Sochaux plant after undergoing inspections covering more than 2,000 quality checkpoints.

This daily discipline is delivering tangible results: today, only two to three customer-reported defects per week are recorded - four times fewer than just one year ago.
