Since we announced its name at the Paris Motor Show in October 2022, we have been looking forward to officially unveiling the Peugeot Inception. After being showing it to the general public on 5 January at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, we presented the PEUGEOT INCEPTION CONCEPT in Europe on 23 March in Paris. That's when we revealed the final detail: our artistic collaboration with Emeric Tchatchoua, founder of the 3.PARADIS brand.
The Inception is recognisable as a Peugeot creation at first glance. Signature design motifs, like the feline silhouette, stand out, while new innovations challenge expectations. The Latin root of its name is a hint at our vision for the future: Inception comes from the Latin 'inception' which means beginning – this new concept car is a manifesto for the design language that will become more and more prevalent in Peugeot vehicles in coming years.
At first glance, one recognises the look of a Peugeot vehicle. Once again, the Lion has stamped its inimitable signature: the feline aspect dominates, but the codes are shaken up. With INCEPTION, PEUGEOT enters a new era. The Latin root of its name says a lot about the meaning of the new direction taken by the Marque: Inception comes from the Latin "inceptio" which means beginning. This new Concept Car is a real manifesto that introduces the Marque's new design language.
The Peugeot Inception showcases our latest, carbon-reducing technology. Our mission is to lower our carbon footprint by more than 50% by 2030 in Europe, and become fully Carbon Net Zero by 2038. Most of the innovations presented in the Peugeot Inception will be brought to production as early as 2025, such as:
  • New generation of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® which integrates steer-by-wire technology, eliminating the steering wheel in favour of a Hypersquare control;

  • Interior that offers a new on-board experience for passengers;

  • Design of the next generation of electric Peugeot cars by 2026, based on the native electric "BEV-by-design" platform.

Our collaboration with a next-generation designer

At the Paris presentation, we showcased our forward-looking design goals by announcing our collaboration with one of the most exciting, up-and-coming French designers: Emeric Tchatchoua, founder of the 3.PARADIS brand.

Inspired by the concept car, Emeric Tchatchoua has created an incredible garment: a jacket made using a lenticular 3D printing technique. The result is a stunning optical illusion that changes colour depending on the angle you view it from.

This 3D printing technique is the same as the one used for the vehicle floor. It's not only highly innovative, but eco-responsible, too. We created it in collaboration with STRATASYS – a specialist in 3D printing for automotive, aerospace, industrial, electronic and medical equipment manufacturers – and French dyers.
