A strong style, between heritage and modernity
Inspired by the legendary 205 GTi, the E-208 GTi takes its iconic codes and reinterprets them with a modern twist. From the bodywork to the wheel arches, the iconic red is omnipresent! The highlight is the perforated 18-inch wheels, a nod to the 205's "holey" wheels, which completes the references to the 1980s icon. Inside, the atmosphere is immersive: bright red carpet and floor mats, sports seats with integrated headrests, a compact Alcantara steering wheel, and upholstery directly inspired by the 205 GTi. "We wanted a car that evokes our history, but with a sober expression of performance," explains Vincent Héride, Product Manager of the E-208 GTi. "No exuberance, but a confident stance, poised on the road."

A thrill machine designed by enthusiasts
For him, this car is much more than a technical project: “It’s a real source of pride. Reviving the GTi brand means reconnecting with strong legitimacy at PEUGEOT. We all put a lot of passion into this development.” With its 280 hp and 345 Nm engine, the PEUGEOT E-208 GTi offers the best power-to-weight ratio in its segment (5.7 kg/hp). This is thanks to the numerous modifications made to the chassis by PEUGEOT Sport engineers, notably the addition of the mechanical limited-slip differential. “I was able to test a development version, it’s amazing! You can deliver all the power when exiting corners without any electronic intervention.” » The PEUGEOT Sport teams also worked on other parameters: widened tracks (56 mm at the front, 27 mm at the rear), 30 mm lowering, shock absorbers with hydraulic stops, 355 mm front brakes with 4-piston calipers, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. "We were looking for performance above all." On the battery side, the 54 kWh capacity allows a range of 217 miles WLTP(i) Pending Homologation , with a specific cooling system allowing intensive use.

A reinvented icon
With the E-208 GTi, PEUGEOT proves that electric can rhyme with emotion. Designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, developed with rigor and driven by a strong heritage, it opens a new chapter in the GTi saga. “It’s the beginning of a new story for PEUGEOT,” concludes Vincent Héride. “And we’re proud to tell it with this car.” For Jean-Marc Finot, this E-208 is quite symbolic: “Having participated in the creation of the original 205 GTi 40 years ago, this new era of innovation with the E-208 GTi is particularly meaningful to me and I’m happy to rediscover the agility and steering feel typical of the PEUGEOT GTi.”
