NEW CAR WARRANTY DEFERRAL

You may have concerns about taking delivery of your new vehicle, especially when, for now, you may be on the road less than usual. We understand this, so for greater peace of mind, we will revise the warranty start date.

For all new PEUGEOTS delivered during the COVID 19 lockdown period, where no extended Warranty contract has been obtained, the Contractual Warranty start date will be deferred to reflect the end of the lockdown period^. This is to prevent any proportion of the Warranty period being lost for customers accepting delivery during this period of time.

ENSURING YOUR SAFETY

YOUR SAFETY IS IMPORTANT TO US, If you do need to visit us, please be reassured of the steps we are taking to ensure your safety.

  • Drop off procedure to be advised at time of booking
  • Designated customer drop off area
  • 2m social distancing rules to be maintained at all times
  • Hand sanitiser will be available
  • All staff wear disposable gloves – replaced for each new customer
  • Desk areas to be cleaned between each customer
  • Keys are to be placed in a tray or envelope supplied by the Retailer

 

Our highly trained technicians wearing PPE will fit the necessary protective covers

  • hand brake
  • seat

On completion of work the same technician will drive the vehicle to the designated collection point and remove all protection covers.

Collection appointments must be made and adhered to, to ensure social distancing rules are maintained.

For Collection and Delivery service

  • Full details of the service will be communicated to customers 2 days prior to the appointment
  • The driver concerned will be wearing a face mask and gloves
  • Key will be sanitised prior to returning to the customer
  • Social distancing rules 2m distance respected at all times
  • The driver recommends to the customer that the vehicle is left for 3 hours before driving

TIPS FOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AT HOME

If you do have some spare time on your hands and want to keep busy, here are some handy tips of how to carry out some home maintenance on your PEUGEOT, so when you are ready to take to the road again, your PEUGEOT is too.

  • Tyres – Check condition, pressure, tread depth. The recommended pressure can be found on the tyre’s sidewall. Pressure and condition will reduce naturally if the vehicle is not being used. The law requires car tyres to have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm in a continuous band around the central three quarters of the tyre. A quick and easy way to see if your tyre tread exceed the minimum legal tread depth is to take the 20p test. Simply place a 20p coin into the main tread grooves of your tyre. If the outer band of the 20p coin is obscured when it is inserted, then your tread is above the legal limit.
  • Oil – Check level and top up if required – see vehicle handbook for further details
  • Fuel – Sometimes moisture can get into the fuel tank. To help stop this keep the fuel level topped up.
  • Screen wash – top up your washer supply with Screen wash – the use of water alone can become stagnant over time.
  • Battery – run the engine for a period of time each week to ensure a level of charge is maintained in the battery. Most batteries are sealed now so no need to top up electrolyte levels with distilled water. If your car is stored in a garage please ensure you move the car outside before running.   
  • Irregular use of your Air Conditioning can produce bacterial growth and unpleasant smells inside the car. Consider booking in for our Complete Anti-Bacterial Refresh
  • Wiper blades – Check for cracking and splitting – you can order replacements via your local retailer.
  • Check exterior lights – its handy to keep some spare bulbs just incase you need to replace any
  • Clean the exterior of your car, especially to remove “bird deposits” which will damage the paintwork

SERVICE SCHEDULE & WARRANTY EXPIRATION DURING LOCKDOWN

To alleviate any concerns you may have regarding your vehicle’s Service Schedule or Warranty Expiry during the COVID-19 lockdown period, we have increased our tolerances in light of recent government instructions.

If your service is due during the official COVID-19 lockdown period, PEUGEOT will increase the Service Schedule tolerance by up to 3 months/ 1800 miles, to cover any cases where vehicles cannot be serviced in accordance with the original service schedule. Please ensure you contact your local PEUGEOT Retailer to arrange for it to be serviced within the increased Service interval tolerance.

In the unusual event your vehicle should encounter a manufacturing defect, while still covered by the Contractual Warranty, and it is not possible to complete the repair due to the COVID 19 lockdown, the total repair costs will still be supported up to one month after the end of the COVID-19 lockdown period. This applies to where your Contractual Warranty expires between the 24/03/2020 and up to one month after the official COVID-19 lockdown period has ended^.
