ELECTRIC MOTOR

Compact and responsive

NEW PEUGEOT e-208 – New electric engine 100 kW

The permanent-magnet electric motor offers maximum power of 100 kw / 110 hp and can reach a torque of 260 Nm. It provides optimal driving pleasure: reduced vibration, a silent motor^ and zero emissions in driving phase.

The electric motor is supported with two other features:

An inverter: This transforms the direct current provided by the battery into an alternating current used by the electric motor. The inverter is located between the battery and the electric motor.
A speed-reducer: An electric car does not have a gearbox but a speed-reducer. This makes the electric motor’s rotation speed compatible with the car’s usual speed range.

BATTERY

High-performance battery

The Lithium-ion high-voltage battery (400 V) is the on-board device that stores electrical energy. It is located beneath the floor, while preserving the passenger space and cargo volume. The battery has a 50 kWh capacity and maximum power of 100 kW for a range of up to 217 miles^ (WLTP standard). With heat regulation through circulating fluid and a heat pump, charging is very fast, the range is optimised and the lifespan increased.

For your peace of mind, the electric car battery has an 8 year warranty or 100,000 miles for 70% of its charge capacity*.

BATTERY LIFE

The range of an electric vehicle refers to the number of miles that can be traveled until the battery is completely discharged. When buying, users want the range values announced by the manufacturers to be as representative as possible in relation to their actual use.
The Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure realistically reflects the consumption of an electric car and its range.

Factors impacting the autonomy of your electric vehicle

At 81 mph, the range of a full electric vehicle is halved compared to the WLTP approved range.

Outside temperatures, regardless of whether heating or air conditioning are used,
directly affect the range of your vehicle.
At 0 ° degrees, this is reduced by 10%.

Flexible and eco-responsible driving will enable you to optimise your range.

Charging from a domestic plug

The all-new e-208 and all-new e-2008 SUV charge using a classic domestic plug in 24 hours for a complete charge. A cable must be purchased as an accessory to facilitate this activity.

Rapid recharging at a public terminal

You can obtain 80% of the vehicle charge in 30 minutes** from a 100kW charging station. Rapid chargers can be found at most motorway service stations and are being progressively installed across the UK.

REGENERATIVE BRAKING

By activating the “Brake” mode and by pulling back the gearbox control, you activate the motor brake through which the battery can be recharged when decelerating. Once the accelerator pedal has been released, the electric motor generates electricity.

Sport: the “Sport” mode gives priority to high performance and thrills, with maximum power and torque.
