What is the economy of a Peugeot electric car?

NEW PEUGEOT e-208 – Electric chassis

The lithium iOn batteries used in Peugeot electric cars are included in the purchase of the vehicle. They have a range that can reach 211 miles WLTP and a capacity of 140 Wh (136 hp for the e208). They last for 100,000 miles and for 70% of the battery charging capacity*, and have a reduced loss of charging capacity over time.
This guaranteed range remains valid even in the event of resale of the vehicle or the purchase of a second-hand one.

Charging your Peugeot electric vehicle

Peugeot electric cars offer several ways to charge your battery that save you time. In addition, charging an electric car is convenient and easy, and can be done quickly and intuitively.

Accelerated charge at home:
Charge your e-208 more quickly and safely from a dedicated charging point which takes approximately 8 hours for a full charge. Government subsidies in the UK are available to support this*.

Charging with public charging points

You can obtain 80% of the vehicle charge in 30 minutes** from a 100kW charging station. Rapid chargers can be found at most motorway service stations and are being progressively installed across the UK.

** The charging time may vary according to the type and power of the charging station, the outside temperature at the charging point and the battery temperature.

Ecodriving tips to adopt

Ecodriving is cost-effective driving that will allow you to maximise the range of your electric car.

Adopting fluid driving

To avoid higher energy consumption, tailor your driving to avoid jerks, frequent and high acceleration, as well as braking.
On motorways, reduce your speed to a minimum because high speeds quickly lower the range of your car.

Using Brake mode

Instead of continuously using the brake pedal, use the engine braking system, which allows energy to be regenerated and therefore charges the battery, during the braking and decelerating.

All-new 208 - Driving Experience

Using "eco" mode

Electric cars are equipped with an "eco" mode that saves energy by reasonably reducing engine power. This mode is preferred in the city because we need less power than on the motorway.

Using the preconditioning

When your vehicle is charged, take advantage to precondition the battery to limit the energy of the heating or cooling systems when driving. Heating or cooling the car during the charge does not make use of the current range

Maintaining the tyres

It is essential to maintain your tyres regardless of your car’s engine type. Besides representing safety, electric cars are concerned with reducing energy consumption, which is liable to increase with unsuitable or poorly inflated tyres.

The fuel consumption you achieve, and CO2  produced, in real world conditions will depend upon a number of factors: including the accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. There is a new test (WLTP*) used to measure fuel consumption and CO figures. The fuel consumption figures shown in this advert are calculated under the WLTP test.

The CO2  figures shown are NEDC equivalent (NEDCeq), calculated using EC correlation tool which converts WLTP figures to NEDC figures, however, these NEDCeq figures are based on the outgoing test cycle (NEDC**) and will be used to calculate tax for first registration. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; you should only compare fuel consumption and CO figures with other vehicles tested using the same technical standard.

*WLTP - Worldwide harmonised Light vehicles Test Procedure. **NEDC - New European Driving Cycle. Information correct at time of going to print.
