The Motability Scheme was launched in 1978 and aims to support people with disabilities in achieving independence through access to affordable mobility solutions. PEUGEOT are proud to be a founding member of the Motability Scheme and have continuously supported the Motability charity since, with a strong belief in manufacturing cars which are accessible for all.
We have a team of friendly, accredited experts at our Retailers who are ready and able to discuss your needs and match you to the best car for you.
HOW DOES THE SCHEME WORK?
The Motability Scheme allows you the choice of three pricing options:
Cars that cost less than your allowance - meaning the remaining amount will be paid directly to you
Cars that cost the same as your full allowance
Cars with an Advance Payment - allowing you to add to your weekly allowance by paying a one-off upfront Advance Payment.
To be eligible to apply to the Motability Scheme, you must receive one of the below benefits, with at least 12 months’ award remaining. If you are the parent or guardian of someone who receives these allowances you may also be eligible to apply on their behalf.
Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
HOW DOES MOTABILITY WORK?
Put simply, you exchange all or part of your mobility allowance to lease the vehicle you choose. The payments are deducted from your allowance every four weeks and paid directly to the Motability Scheme.
Some vehicles will require an Advance Payment, which is not included in your mobility allowance, but many won’t need this.
Every PEUGEOT Retailer has a Motability Expert who can discuss your options with you. Whether you have questions over budget, optional extras or adaptations, PEUGEOT are here to help you pick the best vehicle for your needs.
Once you’ve worked out what’s important to you in your Motability vehicle, find your local PEUGEOT Retailer.
Our Motability Experts will help you choose the perfect vehicle for you, discuss any adaptations you may need and arrange for a test drive where requested. They’ll take you through the process from start to finish, ensuring you understand each step along the way.
Once you’ve made your order you’ll receive an acceptance letter with your Personal Identification Number. Your chosen retailer will keep you up to date on the progress of your new vehicle and provide you with an expected delivery date.
400+ Adaptations available
PEUGEOT Motability cars currently have over 400 adaptations available through the Motability Managed Adaptations Programme (MMAP). This means that your adaptations are fitted before your vehicle is delivered to you, meaning you can drive away with confidence.
Common Motability adaptations include hand controls for disabled drivers as well as easily foldable seats. Your adaptation installer will ensure that your adaptations work specifically for your needs and with your chosen PEUGEOT vehicle.
Many adaptations can be fitted to your PEUGEOT with no extra cost however, any that do have an additional cost will require payment directly to your PEUGEOT Retailer at the start of your lease.
If you need to make any adaptations that are not available thought the Motability Managed Adaptations Programme, you will need to contact RSA Motability to ensure your insurance covers that adaptations. Your PEUGEOT Retailer will be able to assist with this.
We have a wide range of vehicles to suit everyone's needs. Whether you're looking for a small city car to get you from A to B, or a 7-seater SUV to take on those family adventures.
