Peugeot supercharges electric vehicle range with new models and pricing

Peugeot is making it even easier for motorists to go green – with reduced prices on their electric car, the Peugeot iOn.

UK motorists can take advantage of the Government’s fuel efficient car incentive schemes, such as the Plug-In car grant, to help drive down the costs of going green with Peugeot.

Peugeot’s competitive electric vehicle pricing means the 100% electric Peugeot iOn is now available for just £21,216 on the road, after discounting a £5,000 grant from the Plug-In scheme.
The iOn is also available on contract hire, for as little as £249 per month for a three-year contract.

And drivers buying a new electric vehicle from Peugeot will get support from a specialist dealer network, with 23 sales and service points in key locations around the country.

Phil Robson, Peugeot UK’s Fleet and Used Car Director, explained: "2011 marked the return of EVs for Peugeot in the UK. Peugeot has been at the forefront of the EV market with the iOn, and this latest development is a key part in our low CO2 strategy.”

Peugeot’s EV range, which also includes the world’s first diesel-electric hybrid car, the 3008 HYbrid4, will be extended in 2013 with the arrival of a new electric Partner van – which could attract grants of up to £8,000 as part of the Government incentive scheme. The van will help fleet managers reduce costs and their environmental impact.

Peugeot is committed to addressing the environmental challenges facing the car manufacturing industry, as well as businesses and consumers. It has made significant strides with new technology – utilising recycled materials to help build new car parts, introducing fuel efficient Stop & Start systems, creating diesel-electric hybrids and producing zero-emission vehicles.

Phil Robson added: “We want to continue to develop our EV strategy as the technology becomes more accepted by consumers, and the charging infrastructure continues to develop.”
