Peugeot’s electric boost for fleets

Peugeot's electric i0n
Peugeot's electric i0n will launch in 2010

Peugeot is set to launch the i0n – an electric vehicle that can travel 80 miles on a single charge. Due to arrive at the end of 2010, it is the ideal solution for fleets looking for an urban vehicle.

The i0n has four doors, four seats and a turning circle of 4.50m, making it ideal for city driving. With a maximum power output of 64 bhp and a maximum speed of 80 mph, the lithium-ion batteries can be fully recharged in just six hours. And for fleets in a hurry, the fast charging system means it can be back up to 80% capacity in just thirty minutes.

Onboard, the i0n features a ‘localised communication unit’ which will alert fleet operators to, among other things, battery status, distance covered and when maintenance is due.

The i0n, developed in co-operation with Mitsubishi Motor Company, is the latest in a long heritage of electric vehicles for Peugeot. The i0n also reinforces Peugeot’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and the dependence on fossil fuels. In line with this strategy, Peugeot has also launched the 207 99g Économique which emits just 99g/km CO2.
