Introducing the new Peugeot 5008

: Introducing the new Peugeot 5008
Peugeot's all-new 5008

An all-new compact MPV is set to join Peugeot’s impressive line-up – the innovative 5008.

And with a choice of five or seven seats, technology including visual parking tips and TV screens for the rear seats, it’s the car you and your family have been waiting for!

Interior
Driver and passenger comfort, along with optimum storage space, are key elements in the 5008.
The driver will enjoy a raised driving position, while a panoramic glass roof* means a bright interior.
Meanwhile, ‘flat folding’ rear seats mean added flexibility, along with a maximum load length of 2.76m – perfect for active families wanting to transport bags, bikes… and even golf clubs!
And to accommodate luggage for all the family, the 5008 can carry up to 2,506 litres – making it one of the largest in its sector.

Technology
The 5008 features a range of innovative features** including:

– A new system that measures an available parking space – and suggests the best way to park;

– Rear multimedia system with two seven-inch colour screens in the back of the front seat head restraints. And to avoid complaints from the rear passengers, each can show different videos simultaneously;

– Head-Up Display showing speed, cruise control/speed limiter and distance alert;

– Distance Alert radar, measuring the distance between the vehicle in front and providing information about safe braking distances;

– Front and rear parking assistance;

– Snow Motion, which adds a further function to the traditional traction control system, allowing the driver to move off and make effective progress on icy roads.

Safety
The 5008 features comprehensive safety equipment including ESP, six air bags including head and curtain air bags, automatic electric parking brake with ‘hill assist’ function, fasten seat belt warnings on all seats and tyre under-inflation detection.

Drive
A compact MPV doesn’t mean a sacrifice on performance. Peugeot engineers have worked hard to provide the 5008 with both safe and engaging road holding, while offering a high level of comfort and convenience.
Tyres with low rolling resistance have also been developed in 16’’ and 17’’ versions, while 18’’ tyres are available to devotees of a more ‘sporty’ driving style.

Engine Range
At launch the 5008 will be available with a choice of six diesel and petrol engine options.

Heritage
The launch of the all-new 5008 heralds the reintroduction of Peugeot’s “5” series.
Previous models carrying the “5” series label have included the legendary Peugeot 504 and the great favourite the Peugeot 505 Family estate.

The 5008, which will have its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, goes on sale from early 2010. Sign up for news alerts  for all the latest 5008 updates.
