Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle in Brazil

The Peugeot UK Team

Rally - The Team - Kris Meeke

Kris Meeke

As the 2009 IRC champion Kris Meeke adds his name to a list of great names such as Markku Alen, Michele Mouton and his mentor, Colin McCrae. So what drives the 2009 champion? We caught up with Kris trackside to try and found out.

Kris, you're one of the leading drivers in the IRC. Can you keep up this fantastic form?

"Some awesome and diverse challenges lie ahead, but with the support and championship winning pedigree of both Peugeot and Kronos we will have the best opportunity to prove our abilities."

How does it feel to drive the S2000 in the International Rally Challenge?

"With the S2000 your driving has to be 100%. I wanted to be in a S2000 car because I thought it would be the future of World Rally. As is turns out the FIA has decided that the WRC will be the S2000 from 2010."

Rally - The Team - Paul Nagle

Paul Nagle

Co-driver Paul Nagle has been driving since the age of 6, and is, in his humble opinion, the best co-driver in Ireland. With the outstanding performances in this year's IRC, no one's about to argue with that.

Paul, what's it like to drive with Kris?

"I have to be the boss in the car. Whatever I say, Kris does. He's very calculating as a driver. As for myself I have no interest in driving; I couldn't do it!"

What was it like to sign for Peugeot?

"It's fantastic, it really is the chance of a lifetime. I'm over the moon."

How does it feel to win so many rallies in the IRC?

"Monte Carlo was the best though we had a sizeable accident. I thought Brazil would be the worst round as we simply didn't know what to expect, but in the end it turned out pretty good."
