See the BB1 in Covent Garden this weekend

Peugeot BB1
Peugeot's BB1 is on it's way to London!

It has the most extraordinary of DNAs - its father is a scooter and its mother is a car.

And with such a unique heritage, don’t miss your chance to enjoy a face-to-face encounter with the BB1 this weekend.

The innovative, electric-powered concept city car, designed to reinvent motion, will be on display in London’s Covent Garden on Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November.

Housed in an enormous bubble – a nod to the BB1’s perfectly-sculptured domed windscreen – visitors will be invited inside to explore the vehicle up close. And don’t worry if you’re not in Covent Garden. BB1-branded rickshaws will be on hand in the nearby area to drop visitors off for free at the event.

The BB1 was first unveiled at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It had been a closely guarded secret, created under the code name ‘Project Future’ at Peugeot’s Automotive Design Network in Paris.

Designers threw out the rule-book when they created the BB1. In place of traditional car seats, it features an unusual driving position with no pedals. The driver sits more upright while the rear passengers ride pillion-style. And instead of a steering wheel, the driver uses motorcycle-style handlebars to control the BB1.

Able to seat four, the BB1 has solar-powered air conditioning and broadband internet access via a smartphone implanted in the handlebars. Powered by a pair of electric motors, it emits no pollutants at all.

To explore the BB1 in person, visit the Peugeot bubble in Covent Garden – in front of the central market - between 10am-7pm. And don’t forget to follow the BB1 on Twitter, Facebook and watch it in action on YouTube.
