Peugeot wins Engine of the Year award… again!

Peugeot wins Engine of the Year award
Peugeot scoops prestigious award

It was three times a winner for Peugeot as they picked up the International Engine of the Year award… for the third year in a row.

The prestigious title, one of the most coveted in the automotive industry, was awarded once again to PSA Peugeot Citroen in the 1.4 to 1.8-litre category. The winning engine – the accomplished 1.6-litre, four-cylinder direct injection turbo petrol engine – powers the Peugeot 207, 308 and the all-new 3008 Crossover.

The International Engine of the Year award is judged by an international panel of 65 renowned motoring journalists from 32 countries. An annual event, the judges focus on quality, performance and efficiency.

Peugeot’s winning engine features direct injection for the turbo engine, variable valve timing for the naturally aspirated engine and a volume flow-controlled oil pump.

Engines in the 1.4-litre to 1.6-litre category currently power more than 12 Peugeot models, including the Peugeot 207 hatchback, 207 CC, 207 SW, 308 hatchback, 308 CC, 308 SW and 3008. By 2010, 75% of all Peugeot vehicles will be equipped with 1.4-litre to 1.6-litre petrol engines.
