From road to rally – the Peugeot 207

Peugeot’s best-selling 2 07 offers a great engine range, sporty profile… and a dynamic drive.

So who better to get behind the wheel for the car’s new television advert than Peugeot UK rally leader Kris Meeke.

The Intercontinental Rally Championship (IRC) driver is no stranger to the 207. He has already enjoyed two victories this season in the Peugeot 207 S2000 rally car – a standard production 207 but with serious modifications.

And while the tubular roll cage and four wheel drive of the S2000 don’t feature on Peugeot’s production 207, Kris still loves driving the popular model.

He appears in the ad – which is on TV screens now – with the slogan, “He’s Meeke, but he’s not mild”. As he calmly copes with his on-screen girlfriend’s in-car navigation, the ad is interspersed with high-octane footage of Kris in action in the IRC.

The 207 was Europe's best-selling low CO2 car of 2008 in both the sub 121g/km and 131g/km sectors. It is available in six trim levels, including Urban, Verve and GT.

And for those wanting a sportier model, the GTi features twin front spoilers, GTi rear spoiler and twin chrome-trimmed sports exhaust as standard.

Kris’s next IRC race will be in Belgium on 18th June.
