Kris Meeke produced a faultless display to win the second round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) in Brazil.

This is the second time that Kris and his co-driver Paul Nagle have triumphed on the gravel stages in Curitiba. And not even the slippery driving conditions – the result of an onslaught of overnight rain on the first day – could put them off course.

After winning this stage so comprehensively in 2009, Kris and Paul proved impossible to beat in 2010. The boys – driving a Peugeot 207 S2000 – left the competition in their wake and finished 46.7 seconds ahead of Guy Wilks in a Skoda.

‘It’s a near-perfect result for us… Paul has been brilliant alongside me and made no mistakes. It’s not been easy this weekend but we’ve learned to control the lead and that’s really pleasing,’ said Kris.

Kris has now won more IRC events than any other driver since the series began in 2007. With five wins in 12 starts, it makes the victory in Curitiba even more special, not only for Kris and Paul but also for the whole Peugeot UK team.

Kris and Paul return to action in the dynamic 207 S2000 on 19 March as the IRC moves to Argentina (Córdoba) for round three. Here, Peugeot UK will face more uneven gravel surfaces and unpredictable weather conditions which will make for a thrilling few days of rallying.
