Peugeot's HDi diesel engine technology, means you can have a less polluting diesel engine that doesn't sacrifice power for improved fuel economy.

The HDi (high pressure direct injection) part of the engine helps to reduce CO2 emissions by 20%, carbon monoxide by 40% and NOx gases, compared to standard engines.

More reductions are achieved by the FAP particle filter that reduces particulates (soot) to almost immeasurable levels.
But less pollution doesn’t mean lower performance.
In fact the opposite is true.

Diesel is injected at high pressure (up to 1,800 bar) giving a constant, even and complete combustion – and more miles per gallon.

You get all the Peugeot power you expect, all with unexpectedly low fuel consumption.
