Peugeot has signed up its dealer network to the new Code of Practice

Peugeot has shown its support for a new Code of Practice for the motor trade – by signing up its entire UK dealer network.

The Motor Industry Code of Practice for Service and Repair, launched in August, is aimed at guaranteeing standards of service and protection for customers.

The new code - administered by a stand-alone body called Motor Codes - commits subscribing garages to honest and fair services. It also calls for open and transparent pricing, completing work as agreed, invoices that match quoted prices, and a straightforward, swift complaint procedure.

Andy Bye, Peugeot’s Director of Quality & Customer Relations says: ‘We welcome the introduction of this initiative, and are delighted that all Peugeot dealers in our UK network are already signed up to provide our customers with a Code of Practice that will further enhance customer satisfaction.’

The self-regulatory Code of Practice, which covers dealerships of all size, also provides customers with flexibility and choice regarding dates and times for service booking and completion. It also guarantees against work done.
Andy Bye adds: ‘All customers will benefit from this initiative because they have access to dependable, honest and fair services, transparent pricing, completion of work as agreed, invoices that match quoted prices, served by competent and conscientious staff.’

Garages which achieve a high enough standard will be entitled to display an Office of Fair Trading approved logo.
