Peugeot's low emission Blue Lion range

Are you looking to reduce your company’s carbon tyre print? Peugeot has launched the new Blue Lion accreditation for its low emission line-up, making it easy for eco-conscious fleets to choose the right car for them – and the environment.

All Blue Lion cars will have low CO2, great fuel economy, lower vehicle excise duty and lower company car tax. Quite a number of Peugeot models already fall into this Blue Lion category, including all models of 107, as well as certain 1007, 207 and 308 models.

Pierre Louis Colin, managing director of Peugeot UK, says: ‘Drivers want, and now have the financial requirement, to do their bit for the environment, but they shouldn’t have to compromise.’

Peugeot is determined to become the most environmentally friendly car maker by the year 2015. Its ground-breaking diesel particulate filter system – now fitted on 1007, 207, 308, 407, 4007, 607 and 807 – has brought particulate levels below what is possible to measure.

What’s more, all of Peugeot’s HDi engines can now run on a 30 per cent Biofuel mix – compared to an industry norm of around five to 10 per cent – which means a reduction in the use of fossil fuels, as it uses crops grown above the ground.

Here are the key points:

  • Peugeot’s Blue Lion petrol models will have CO2 emissions under 130g/km
  • They will only be built in factories with ISO 14001 certification
  • They will be 95 per cent recyclable
