It doesn’t go on sale until June 9… but Peugeot’s all-new Bipper van is already winning awards!

The innovative LCV has been named ‘Best New Van of the Year’ at the prestigious 2008 Fleet World awards.

Judges were impressed with key features including a 610 kg payload and load volume of 2.5 m3.

For fleets looking for even more room, an optional Multi Flex seat will be available later in the year. This passenger seat can be folded into the floor and further improves the interior capacity – up to 2.8 m3 load space and 2.5m load length.

Yet despite its roomy interior, the Bipper is just 1.82m wide and has an overall length of 3.86m. And for even easier city driving, it has a turning circle of just 9.95m – ideal for tight spaces.

Optional sliding doors ease loading and unloading, while the rear doors open to 180 degrees.

A range of bulkhead options means the load space can be adapted to suit specific customer requirements.

The Bipper, when powered by the 1.4 HDi 70 engine, also has class-leading CO2 emissions of just 119g/km. The 1.4 HDi 70 also has miserly fuel consumption of 62mpg.

April Harris, Peugeot’s LCV product and pricing manager, says: ‘We’re looking forward to offering our customers all the virtues that the new Bipper van offers. Customers will also recognise the benefits of Bipper being economical, cost-effective and compact while not compromising on load capacity and payload.’

The Bipper is available with two gearbox options, including for the first time on a Peugeot LCV an electronically controlled manual gearbox: 2-tronic. And this 1.4 HDi 70 2-tronic model has fuel consumption of 64mpg and CO2 emissions of just 116 g/km.

Meanwhile the 1.4 litre petrol model, which provides maximum power of 75 bhp, has emissions of 164g/km.

For even more options, the Bipper is available in two versions: S and S with Plus Pack.
