The Peugeot 308 - winner of the "Goldene Lenkrad 2007" for best compact car

We don’t like to boast, but some things are too good to keep secret! The Peugeot 308 has won Germany’s prestigious ‘Goldene Lenkrad’ Award for best compact car.

A panel of racing drivers, motor industry professionals and celebrities judged the car on design, comfort, safety and environmental friendliness.And they awarded it gold over models including the Toyota Auris, Kia C’eed and Subarau Impreza.

One of the main criteria the cars were compared on was style. And the judges found this aplenty in the 308 range. Features include a panoramic ‘Cielo’ glass roof, RT4 Multimedia system, ergonomically designed dashboard and cruise control.

The 308’s Michelin energy saving tyres and class leading engines –designed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions – also helped it to the top spot.

But not only has the 308 been recognised by German automotive experts for its quality, there’s currently a fantastic offer on the range. If you buy a 308 S 1.4 VTi 95 3-door, Peugeot is offering a complimentary specification upgrade† to a 308 Sport 1.6 VTi 120 3-door.

This step up in model – worth around £1,500 – includes 17-inch alloy wheels, full body coloured exterior, radio / CD player with MP3 compatible CD reader and cruise control.
