Utilities business PH Jones has added 40 Bipper vans to its fleet.
Specialists in heating, plumbing and property maintenance, the company will use the LCVs to transport electricity meters.

PH Jones, which provides services to more than 250,000 properties nationwide, opted for the S HDi 70 with Plus Pack. The model has a combined fuel consumption of 62mpg and carbon dioxide emissions of 119g/km.

Don Hankey, PH Jones’ Technical Director, says: ‘We were impressed with the Bipper’s fuel consumption and how compact it is – ideal for driving in cities. Yet despite it’s size, it also holds a decent load capacity.’

PH Jones has a fleet of nearly 800 vehicles – both cars and LCVs. And the company plans to take even more Bipper vans in the future.

‘The main use for the Bipper will be our electric meter contract, where we change meters in properties’, adds Mr Hankey. ‘We will be looking at adding more Bippers to the fleet in the future.’

Despite being incredibly compact on the outside, the Bipper has a hefty payload of 610kg and a load capacity of 2.5m3. This makes it the first van designed for the city – and is one of the reasons it was voted Best New Van of the Year by Van Fleet World. Basic prices start from £8,195 and standard specification includes ABS, drivers airbag, trip computer and power assisted steering.

The Plus Pack adds electric windows and mirrors, remote central locking and automatic locking over speeds of 12mph. For more information, visit the Bipper showroom.
