Peugeot Bipper is a winner!

Peugeot's Bipper is named International Van of the Year 2009

Our nippy city van – famed for being big on the inside, small on the outside – has already proved a huge hit with our customers.

And now the Bipper has impressed the experts after being awarded the prestigious ‘International Van of the Year 2009’ award.

The Bipper was given the title in September at the 62nd International Commercial Vehicles Show in Hanover.

It’s the second year in a row Peugeot has been a winner. In 2008, our Expert van was awarded the sought-after title.

April Harris, Peugeot’s LCV product manager, says: 'We are delighted to have won this prestigious award for the second year running.’

Peugeot previously won the award with the Boxer in 1995 and Partner in 1997.

The winner of the annual award, launched in 1992, is decided by a select jury of leading journalists representing 20 European countries.

And they found the originality of the Bipper, aimed at the entry level of the European small van market, was a winner.

The LCVs compact size, optimised load volume (up to 2.8 m³), payload (up to 610 kg), practicality and superb handling were also recognised.

The low fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions (62.7 mpg and 119g/km in the combined cycle with the 1.4 litre HDi engine) also helped it win the title.
