Seven into 308 goes... perfectly!

The 308 SW Prologue concept
They’re all top secret just now, but a sneak glimpse of something special to come in the 308 range is available with this model: the 308 SW Prologue.

The Prologue was a key model at Frankfurt’s latest gathering for future auto trends. And no wonder: Peugeot first aired the SW idea in 2002 with the launch of the 307 SW and the concept’s been so popular it’s extended since then to the 407 and 207 ranges.

SW might be shorthand for Peugeot’s stylish and practical lifestyle option, but what will it mean in the 308’s case?
The Prologue boasts a panoramic glass roof so it’s a bright and breezy place to be – especially if you’re in the back. Facially, given the aluminium-coloured front grille and directional xenons, this model is very 308.

But check the original shape of the rear quarter light windows – they promise a dynamism that is rare in this segment. Aluminium-coloured roof bars add yet more elegance to the overall design. Further touches bode well for the ultra-busy, not least the design of the tailgate glass which can be opened independently of the tailgate, making impulse purchases and high street drop-offs easier than ever.

But it’s the detailing in the rear seats that will make the 308 SW stand out. The Prologue suggests a configuration of individual rear seats, identical in size, which can be folded, removed and positioned in many different areas. So the second row can cater for three seats with different spacing possibilities – and each of these can then also be positioned in the third row, for maximum versatility.

And that third row can also accommodate extra ‘occasional’ seats which have a specific design, enabling the vehicle to seat up to seven.
